Capitals to Face Blackhawks without Oshie

After beating the Sharks and the Blue Jackets, the Capitals will be looking to win three in a row tonight against the Blackhawks.

Should they manage a win tonight, it will be their third three-game winning streak this season, but they have not managed four.

This seems like just a normal game preview until you learn that TJ OSHIE WILL MISS THE GAME! The horror.

The Osh-man, as he is called by no one, took a brutal ass-to-the-head from Joe Thornton as you can see in the following video.

Now, by normal NHL standards this isn't a suspendable play, however, that is the problem. It's crazy to think of just how vicious you have to be to get a suspension in this league. Late hits into heads are totally fine.

While some might ridiculously refer to this is an upper-body injury, it is very clearly a head injury, probably a concussion. Possibly a neck injury, but most likely a head injury. While technically a part of the upper body, you'd think people would at least try to be accurate and not follow the league's ridiculous injury protocols.

With Burakovsky already missing 19 games (oh I just realized what Backstrom's problem is) this is a huge blow to the Capitals who are already employing Travis Boyd, Devonto Pelly-Smith,
Jay Beagle and Alex Chiasson.

Oshie has ten goals and a 52% CF rating and has seemed to pick up where he left off last season. The Capitals basically blew up their team to sign him, and he is good, but every time I watch a team half full of AHL players, I wonder where they'd be if they'd just let him walk.......

So to break that down, the Capitals already are playing with four guys on forward who should barely be in the NHL, and will now have to add a fifth. Does anyone know the whereabouts of Chandler Stephenson?

I guess it was an inopportune time to lose Nathan Walker to wiaveres, but then again, if you felt you had to waive a guy who couldn't beat out Beagle, Stephenson, Boyd, Pelly-Smith or Chiasson, how much of a loss could it be? Plus the guy never let up with the Austrailian accent.

With Oshie out, it doesn't look good for extending the winning streak.
