Jussi Markkanen is out, Mathieu Garon is in. It's a 2 year deal.
I said on this web site in June about Garon: Only one goaltender makes my UFA list. If the team is looking to replace Jussi Markkanen at the backup position, my suggestion would be Mathieu Garon. People might look at his stats for 05/06 and become wary but he played way too many games that season for a really bad team. In 03/04 and 06/07 when functioning as a backup, Garon put up phenomenal numbers.
