Breaking news coming from Team Canada this evening as they announce a major roster move.

Apparently Tyler Seguin has suffered an injury during his time playing with Team Canada and will be unable to be available in time for Canada to take the chance. Is it serious?

The good news is that Tyler Seguin should be ready for the regular season. Seguin will join his Stars teammate Jamie Benn as a player too injured to play for Canada.

Canada is certainly talented enough to overcome the loss of Seguin (how many countries can say that), but Seguin isn't a player who they can just replace with the next guy up outside of Taylor Hall who they seem to not want.

Ryan O'Reilly is a good player and will certainly be able to hold his own but he isn't Tyler Seguin.

O'Reilly was on Team Canada when they won the 2016 World Championships this spring

One benefit to having O'Reilly is that he is able to play wing as well as center. An important skill to possess considering how many centers there are on this roster.
