Let's Discuss a Trouba Offer Sheet |
|
|
|
There is word that Boston is preparing a huge offer sheet for Jacob Trouba.
First why let this leak? What good does it do to give the Jets fair warning that you are coming after one of their players? This is a team that has the financial backing of one owner with enough money to buy all the teams in the NHL. He can literally buy teams for breakfast should he choose too. The Jets have also have loads of cap space.... loads! So why call the shot?
If this is the case it's because the Bruins have tried to make a trade happen and the Jets are balking at it. This was it tries to force their hand to come to the table and it makes sense now more than ever as to why Chevy said he would match all offers on any of his RFAs. He's trying to prevent that scenario from happening.
Of course though, Trouba and his camp sit on the sidelines rubbing their hands as they await the windfall that will come. Who wouldn't.
So if the offer sheet is as advertised- HUGE what does that mean then for the Jets if it happens?
You can go to this
THIS LINK to see who can make what offers and right now the Bruins have to make a HUGE ONE as they do not have the picks to do anything other than under 1.2 million.
I'd take those 4 first round picks if I were Chevy and let Boston cripple themselves with a huge salary on a player who has not showing he earned it yet, and nothing coming into the pipe.
