Oh September, at last you are here! Our long, hot, hockeyless summer is coming to an end. Smashville is cranking it up with a lot of great events to get us ready for hockey. As the team filters back into Nashville, activity at Centennial Sportsplex will begin to ramp up as informal skates will be taking place on a daily basis… here’s what September looks like for the Predators…

- Saturday, September 6th – Matt Cullen ProHockey Camp at A-Game Sportsplex – 2pm.

- Thursday, September 11th – Prospects report for physicals.

- Friday, September 12th – First practice with the prospects at Centennial Sportsplex. Time 1pm

- Friday, September 12th – Official grand opening of Ford Ice Center. Time 5pm

- Saturday, September 13th – First prospect game at Ford Ice Center – Florida vs. Boston – 1pm

- Saturday, September 13th – First Predator prospect game at Ford Ice Center – Nashville vs. Tampa Bay – 4:30pm

- Sunday, September 14th – Prospect game at Ford Ice Center – Tampa Bay vs. Boston – 4pm

- Sunday, September 14th – Prospect game at Ford Ice Center – Nashville vs. Florida – 7pm

- Monday, September 15th – 2014 First Tennessee Brent Peterson Celebrity Golf Classic presented by Franklin American Mortgage at Legends Club begins at 7am and runs all day.

- Monday, September 15th – Prospect team practice at Ford Ice Center – Tampa Bay – 10am, Boston – 10:30am, Nashville – Noon, Florida – 12:30pm.

- Tuesday, September 16th – Prospect game at Ford Ice Center – Tampa Bay vs. Florida – 10am.

- Tuesday, September 16th – Prospect game at Ford Ice Center – Nashville vs. Boston – 1pm.

- Tuesday, September 16th – Petey’s Preds Party – Bridgestone Arena – 5:30pm.

- Thursday, September 18th – Roster players report for physicals.

- Friday, September 19th – First day of on-ice workouts.

- Tuesday, September 23rd – Pre-Season game at Tampa bay – 6:30pm

- Thursday, September 25th – Pre-Season game, Home vs. Tampa Bay – 7pm

- Saturday, September 27th – Pre-Season games – home double header vs. Florida – 3pm and 7pm.

- Monday, September 29th – Pre-Season game, Home vs. Columbus – 7pm

And you thought February was going to be busy!

Random Notes

- Congratulations to Mike Fisher, he and Carrie Underwood announced that she is expecting a little singing Pred fan sometime in late spring!

- Bovada has come out with their odds to win the Stanley Cup… The favorites are Chicago (13/2) and LA (9/1)… the Preds chances? Dead last at 75/1… tied with Buffalo, Calgary and Florida. You gotta keep ‘em underrated…

- Think there isn’t a goaltending issue in Minnesota? Minnesota has a choice of three starters… head coach Mike Yeo has already announced that each gets equal playing time to determine the starter… you can call is a “good problem” … but it’s a problem nonetheless.

- Looks like Shane O’Brien is getting a shot on a PTO in Florida.

- Messages are being sent that the Blue Jackets and RFA Ryan Johansen continue to be far apart in their negotiations. Wonder what happens if he holds out???
