Shero Out In Pittsburgh, Bylsma Retained UPDATE: WHY? |

The Pittsburgh Penguins have fired GM Ray Shero Friday, but in a surprising move have retained Dan Bylsma as head coach. Penguins President David Moorehouse said the new GM, along with ownership, will decide on the coaching staff going forward.
Shero may not be unemployed for long, as former Nashville Predators head coach Barry Trotz could both be headed to Washington if both became available... well, now they are.
Interestingly, before the Shero news, I had also heard that Trotz could be on his way to Pittsburgh to replace Bylsma if he was fired.
Update: A Source tells me Bylsma was kept on because there is a definite supply problem with NHL coaches. That's all well and fine, but in my opinion that supply problem will only be worse in time.
