Bill Daley didn't create any interest in the lottery show as all but the Florida Panthers stayed in the exact spots they were supposed to be in.

Trent Klatt drew the short straw and ended up on the broadcast this year. He was asked what the Isles would do if they managed to win the first overall pick. Would they give it to Buffalo or retain it. How stupid to ask that question of Klatt who everyone knew would not answer even if he could.

My opinion is -- hand it over to Buffalo. Why not? Oh, right. If Snow could use it to get a a worthwhile D or goalie. This will be an interesting spot for Mr. Snow.

Brian Burke sat in for Calgary looking like a mad man who used Barry Melrose's hairdresser. He was shocking while Bob McKenzie actually looked younger on tonight's broadcast. Maybe the hair and make-up people were screwing with him.

So here we are. Out of the playoffs and a day after the Isles packed up their lockers. Normally I've seen it called 'break-down day,' but Newsday's Art Staple called it "baggie day." Were they given parting gifts as they left? I don't know.

But we do know that Jack Capuano will be returning next season. Anyone who knows anything about this team should have known that already. Jack will be given another shot at making the team successful and he just may do it if the injury bug gets exterminated.

Listen to John Tavares' exit interview. It's telling how the team feels about Capuano and what happened this season. Let's not forget that Jack has coached this team to a few surprising wins and has been able to string a few together. But the extended losing streak killed their chances and even Tavares said it was right after the 'shocking' trade of Matt Moulson.

If you want to look forward to something before the draft, we now have two players on Team USA in the World Championship. Brock Nelson and Matt Donovan will return to Team USA in May.

Yeah....
