After several years of ups, downs and uncertainty, the New Jersey Devils ownership saga appears to have reached its end.
A group lead by Philadelphia 76ers majority owner, Josh Harris, has agreed to purchase the Devils and pay off all team debts. Harris' group paid over $320 million for the team, according to Tom Gulitti of the Bergen Record.
The sale of the Devils was approved by the Board of Governors Wednesday afternoon and was the last stepping stone towards the purchase.
Harris and his group will own the majority of the team while former Devils majority owner Jeff Vanderbeek will own a small share of the team.
As I've said countless times, the Devils will remain in New Jersey now and for the foreseeable future.
A press conference will take place at 11 a.m. ET today to announce the purchase of the team.
