After a few days of being in limbo, the Colorado Avalanche have confirmed that Hall of Fame goaltender Patrick Roy will be their next head coach and vice-president of hockey operations.

In other news, Rangers coach John Tortorella has benched the player who once won him a Stanley Cup in Tampa. Brad Richards was told this morning he will not be in the lineup for the pivotal game 4 tonight. Is Torts doing this to shock his team into a victory or to keep Richards from injury so the Rangers, who are in well known cap trouble for this coming season, can exercise their buyout on Richards enormous contract?

Either way...this is a huge story.

More to come..
