Have you checked out the items on the special auction page yet? http://auction.nhl.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/User?id=nyiNHL&wl=12717464&type=A

They certainly run the gamet of merchandise and experiences! All for the cause of helping those that have lost so much here on the East Coast due to super-storm Sandy.

And it's not just NY Islanders items, it's Carrie Underwood, Disney on Ice, Long Island Ducks, the Nets and the Yankees. So many items are up for auction.

Sure, it ain't cheap, but this is a relief effort that is going to take more than ever before. The amount of people that have been touched by this storm is unprecedented.

So, be an equipment manager for a day or bid on one of the suite packages for so many different events! Something for everyone. Also, if it's one of the ten person suite packages, if everyone you want to go with kicks in to win it, it won't all come out of your pocket.

Sideboard: So a full 70% of you are also no longer wearing your NHL branded items. Some people are, but the majority of us are not. This is very different from the last time we had to sit through a lost season. I truly worry for the future health of the league. I do not believe that the fans will return as easily and quickly as we did eight years ago. They are arguing over a number that is shrinking daily.

Give it look and see if there's something you may want while you help those in our community that have nothing left.
