Time to have a little fun in the midst of a season that may or may not happen… In order to diversify our coverage beyond the lockout -- and also simply as a fun diversion -- HockeyBuzz is organizing a simulated season involving the all-time teams for ALL current NHL teams.

For each NHL team, HockeyBuzz bloggers will choose a 22-man roster - 12 starting forwards, 6 starting defensemen, two reserve skaters and two goaltenders.

So we are clear… Players from all eras of team history can be chosen... even for franchises that have relocated and changed names. For example, Quebec Nordiques players can be considered for the Avalanche, original Winnipeg Jets for Phoenix Coyotes, Hartford Whalers for Carolina Hurricanes, etc.

I have gone through the Predators historical rosters and found every player that has played at least 100 games in Pred colors, they are listed on the three polls below… I have to admit, it was pretty fun combing through names from the first few years of this franchise. Players that are no longer with us like Wade Belak, Sergei Zholtok and Karlis Skrastins. Players that went on to success with other teams like Andrew Burnett… and players that are very present in Pred Nation’s memory… like Marc “Mad Dog” Moro, Patrick Cote, Bubba Berenzweig, Marian Cisar, and Denny Lambert.

So… go ahead… make your choices… polls close at Noon Wednesday.

Thanks for playing… I will publish the results on Thursday.

Congratulations to the University of Alabama in Huntsville Chargers on winning their first two games of the season, dominating the University of Alabama Frozen Tide in their series over the weekend. The Chargers get their NCAA D1 season going this Friday night with a tilt against the Minnesota State Mavericks. The WCHA team is in town in what could be a conference preview as the WCHA is looking at the Charger program to potentially join the conference.

I will be doing the PA for the game and we are looking to bring a little Smashville to Rocket City.

Let’s go down and support UAH Hockey and help them with a great turnout for the WCHA visit! in order to help do that… simply come on down to the Von Braun Center on Friday night… puck drop is at 7pm, and frankly, it’s an easy drive straight down I-65, only about 90 minutes from Nashville.

The best news is… in order to pack the house… there is free admission! You can get your live hockey on and support the Chargers as they enter into a critical season for their continued development. So… free ticket… live hockey… what else do you need???
