Okay, so they're not the NY Islanders, but they sort of are.

Following their 3 - 1 win over the Providence Bruins, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers are taking on the Manchester Monarchs in (my favorite place in the world) New Hampshire. The Islanders ITV will be live webstreaming the game and Phil Giubileo will do the play-by-play. Our buddy Chris King is calling the the LI Ducks Championship series tonight, so he was not available.

You can even Tweet questions to @philgpbp and have them answered on the webcast. This isn't an ideal situation, but it really is the best they can do for us -- and they ARE trying.

Travis Hamonic and Nino Niederreiter, Kirill Kabanov and Matt Donovan, Aaron Ness and Sean Backman -- all entertaining and skilled hockey players. All wanting to be wearing the crest of the NY Islanders, but happy to be playing for the Sound Tigers. We should at least support them and watch. Grab a beverage! It will still be fun. At least you won't have to fight a crowd to get to the bathroom.

On a different note, I'd like to congratulate the NY Islanders on something you probably would never have thought they would win, because who knew it existed.

On Wednesday morning, Ann Rina accepted an award that recognized the Islanders for their "dedication to furthering the rights of disabled persons."

Two years ago, the Islanders hired a game-night employee who is restricted to a wheelchair, he became one of their most dedicated game-nighters. The agency that helped connect the two nominated the Islanders for the award and during this month, which is "Disability Employment Awareness Month," they were honored to accept.

In this trying time of finding employment, think of how much more difficult it is when you have a disability. The Islanders have always been ahead of the curve on a lot of things. Add this to their list.

Later tonight I will post the next Player poll for Right Wing. Yes, John Tonelli will be in it. Stick around.
