Time For Bryz to Steal One

Sometimes, Flyers fans are simply blind with passion.

You had to be blind to think for one minute that Marc-Andre Fleury didn't steal Game 5 for the Penguins.

Or that Ilya Bryzgalov lost the game for you.

Fleury was better and made the critical stops to give his team a win. Finally, we had a playoff game that resembled a "true" playoff game where defensive aspects were present and where goaltending made a difference.

Scott Hartnell said something after the game that only he could say because he has the stones to say in that dressing room: that the Flyers goaltending needs to do what Fleury did and win a game outright. With some help from the defense.

Thank you Scott for pointing out what Flyers fans are reluctant to admit. That as this point in the series, Fleury has actually raised his level of play and now it's Bryz's turn to do the same.

Bryzgalov's angry remarks after Game 5 almost suggested to me that the pressure of the series is getting to him. I didn't see a confident goalie there.

If this series goes back to Pittsburgh, it's over before Game 7 begins.

Pittsburgh has all the momentum and the fact the FLyers have not scored an even strength goal for almost 140 minutes and have been shut out in the 2nd and 3rd period of both Game 4 and 5, is of serious concern to me.

Sidney Crosby has said it is "do or die" for Pittsburgh for the past 2 games.

Well, the way I see it, it's do or die for the Flyers in Game 6 to keep the series from going back to Pittsburgh for Game 7.

I think it would medically unethical for the Flyers to play Nicklas Grossmann in Game 6 even if he says he is OK. He has a concussion. Players have said openly. Protocol dictates a week off.

Flyers sources told me on Friday the hope was the team would win Game 5 and have 8 days to bodies to rest and Grossmann to recover. Grossmann skated today. But he should not be permitted to play the rest of this series.
