It’s Christmas at the McCann Household.

It’s kinda funny how this holiday changes as you move through the stages of life. From the excitement of Santa and your kids finding the boxes more entertaining than the toys, to the toys getting more pricey and more intense, to your children getting older, to going to Christmas Vigil Mass instead of the kids Mass, to actually sleeping in a bit on Christmas morning, sorta… after all, there is a turkey to get in the oven.

The one constant over the years has been the peace that settles over the world at this time... the slowing of the breakneck pace in which we live our lives, the pause from the buying frenzy that the holidays have become. Quite frankly, it’s the best part of the holiday. Family and friends with gather later today, to share a meal and some laughs and some love. The priorities become aligned with how they should be.

A few Christmas wishes …

First, to my wife and partner… You are the heart and soul of SlapShot Radio and the biggest reason the show is where it is. Thank you. We have spent many Christmases together and each one is more special than the last. I am so lucky to have you in my life. I love you.

To my children… you are shining lights in your parent’s lives. Your Mom and I marvel at the young adults you have become, each of you chasing your individual dreams without forgetting your family. It is a delicate balance, one that each of you is handling well. We are blessed to have such great kids.

To my SlapShot Radio co-host Pete… Thank you for your partnership on the show, but more importantly, thanks for your friendship, I treasure it more than you know.

To the Predators organization, I wish each of you continued success. I appreciate the opportunities and the fun that I have had being a small part of this franchise. It has been such a joy to work with such great people. The ride has been a bumpy one over the last few seasons, but the path is moving in the right direction.

To each and every one of the readers of this blog… I wish you peace and love in this most special of holiday seasons. Thanks for your criticism, your feedback, your loyalty and your friendship
