We got a good one for tonight’s SlapShot Radio, built by RiverBirch Homes. At 6pm of 102.5 the Game we will feature
• Sportsnet’s Jeff Marek – one of our favorite guests
• Author of the new book on NHL General Managers, “Behind the Moves” Jason Farris
• Buffalo Sabres broadcast analyst Rob Ray will help us preview Saturday’s game
• Voice of the Milwaukee Admirals, Aaron Sims to chat about the changes behind the bench in Milwaukee.
Pete will be joining us from Vancouver, so make sure you are listening at 6pm tonight on 102.5 the Game.

Random Notes

- Former Predators Associate Head Coach and current advisor Brent Peterson underwent the first of three surgeries to help alleviate his Parkinson’s symptoms yesterday. The surgical treatment he is undergoing is called Deep Brain Stimulation. WKRN Channel 2 had a report on it yesterday… here is the link. Channel 2 is following coach through his course of treatment.

- Hmmm, one station arrogantly taking poorly sourced, agenda driven potshots at the team, another giving us reports like the one above… I wonder which one deserves the support of Pred Nation?

- Tough loss last night for the Predators, it’s always tough to waste a good goaltending performance, but if you can’t score, you can’t win.

- The defensive efforts were very good last night, very balanced across the three pairings.

- The road gets no easier for Nashville, Thursday at Vancouver and home against Buffalo is no recipe for easily getting well, however, the team does spend a lot of time at home during December. Only five of their fourteen games in December are on the road.

- Don’t forget that NCAA Division I hockey is back at Bridgestone Arena this weekend. The University of Alabama in Huntsville Chargers take on the University of Nebraska – Omaha Mavericks. The Mavericks are ranked 21st by USCHO and 20th by InsideCollegeHockey.com. Game times are 7pm Friday night and 1pm Saturday afternoon. It will be my honor to do the PA for both games.

- The “Trade Bobby Ryan” cottage industry that has popped up over the past few days is pretty crazy. If I’m the GM of Anaheim I wouldn’t be trading a young, developing star with a reasonable contract that takes you through another three seasons just in the name of “shaking things up.”

- New coaches in Washington and Carolina… same results… I know it is only one game, but you expect better.

- New coach in Milwaukee? Also same results, as the Ad’s continue their winning ways.
