- I'm trying to figure out how to write something that can be read while the reader is playing NHL12, which has hit the shelves...

- Ticket sales continue to be strong, the Preds announced the best first weekend of single game ticket sales in franchise history, selling almost 7,500 single game ducats. Obviously the success in the playoffs last year has carried over.

- The Pred rookies smoked Tampa's rookie squad 7-3 yesterday... they are back in action at 11am today against Florida (stick tap to Dirk Hoag for calling them the "Kiddie Kats")

- Quick... sign Craig Smith for 15 years... OK, not quite... but looking at his five point performance in yesterday's rookie game against the Baby Bolts, following up his surprising performance at the Worlds last spring... well it may give Pred Nation more than a glimmer of offensive hope.

- Online registration is available for the Predators' great G.O.A.L. program. This program helps parents get their kids into ice hockey without the cost of buying equipment. Go to the Preds website to register your 5 - 8 year old.

- Nice touch by the CBC in honoring Wade Belak's memory on their "Game On" episode of Battle of the Blades.

- What is the holdup in officially announcing the Winter Classic?

- Glad to see Boston do the right thing and put Marc Savard's name on the Stanley Cup.

- Rookies will be back in town tomorrow for an on-ice session, then nothing on ice until the weekend with the whole team.-

- Best wishes to Chicago's Patrick Sharp, who underwent an emergency appendectomy yesterday. He will missing training camp and perhaps a couple of regular season games.
