- The Predators signing goaltending coach Mitch Korn for three more years is very good news to Pred Nation. The goalie guru has been instrumental in developing the depth between the pipes in Nashville.

- A key piece of the Phoenix Coyotes’ success over the last three seasons has been Ilya Bryzgalov, not able to get a deal in place, Phoenix traded the rights to the mercurial Russian to Philadelphia. The Flyers have about three weeks to sign the 31 year old before he becomes a UFA. Potential fix for the Flyers goaltending woes? We’ll see…

- Aaron Rome’s suspension will have an impact on the Canucks as they find themselves down two blueliners, one to suspension and one (Dan Hamhuis) to injury. This team has dealt with injuries to their defense corps all year, so at least they are used to it.

- The Rome hit could certainly be identified as a turning point in this final, especially if Boston ties things up tonight. Vancouver may have indeed poked the bear… or Bruin in this case. You would think the Canucks learned their lesson in the first round.

- Matt Reitz on ProHockeyTalk poses an interesting question… Would Nathan Horton still be playing if the NHL handled things earlier in the Cup Final? Fascinating discussion… check it out here.

- As much as Nashville fans appreciated Canuck fans during their series last month, Vancouver is drawing few new fans to their side and they are taking some rather interesting shots in the media. Matthew Sekeres, in his Globe and Mail column today, calls Vancouver “the most hated team in the NHL.” He then quotes quite a few NHL players past and present who take their shots. You can check out the column here.

- With NBC winning the rights to the 2014 Sochi Olympics, you can probably count on the NHL being part of it.

- Hope he brings a truck tonight as Preds prospect Ryan Ellis is set to collect a boatload of awards tonight at the Hockey Hall of Fame. He is set to receive the Mickey Renaud Captain’s Trophy as the OHL’s best captain, the Max Kaminsky Trophy awarded to the OHL’s Most Outstanding Defenseman, and the Red Tilson Trophy as the OHL’s Most Outstanding Player of the Year. Don’t be surprised if Ryan skips Milwaukee completely and comes to the Predators next season.

- Forbes has an interesting tidbit regarding Nashville’s favorite CEO of a Canadian cell phone manufacturer. Mike Ozanian is posting that NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman “has told Balsillie that if he behaves himself and doesn’t create any more spectacles or bad publicity for the league, he will eventually get a team.” I’ve often said that if Balsillie would play by the rules, he’d get a team, hell, history has proven that one… personally, I think Balsillie would shake up the NHL’s old guard.

- Congratulations to the Binghamton Senators on winning the Calder Cup last night, taking the cup on the road at the Toyota center in Houston, defeating the Aeros four games to two. This is Binghamton’s first AHL championship.

- Tonight’s playoff schedule – Vancouver @ Boston – Game Four – Canucks lead series 2-1 – Coverage begins at 7pm Central on Versus and CBC.
