I have one of those colds that a four year old gives you...ugh.

Sundays are typically the slowest days in the rumor mill, so I thought I would comment on a few other trade rumors that are out there, although in both cases my sources are telling me they are born out of speculation. I wouldn't give them an e1, but all that means is that my sources aren't telling me about them. My sources are denying them at this point.

#1

Shawn Horcoff for Chris Phillips. Would you do it?

Not if you are Edmonton in my opinion. All you need to do is look at last year's playoffs and how these guys performed. My memory of Horcoff was that Detroit series and the finals. I felt that Horcoff could have won the MVP in the playoffs last year. HE was the best player on the Oilers. He is the most well rounded player for sure. He is very similar to a young Steve Yzerman.

My Memory of Phillips was him allowing players to skate by him in the Buffalo series, including the goal that eliminated the Sens. I also remember that one goal by Drury where he was allowed to skate in from the corner and score without anyone touching him.

#2

There is another rumor out there that would have Jovanovski going to Phoenix for Nabokov. This trade makes sense cap wise and would probably put San Jose over the top, but I think this is a case of people over valuing Nabokov. I have heard several rumors involving Nabokov, and none of them have anywhere close to this much value going the other way. If you are Phoenix you would only do this kind of trade if goaltending was absolutely killing you and was the one thing that was holding you back. Will Phoenix be better without their best defenseman by adding a better goalie. Counter productive to me.

As far as Jovo goes, there are teams trying to pry him away according to my sources, including Montreal, Philadelphia, and Nashville. All e1's.

I have heard that Nabokov to Boston is the most likely scenario. Murray, and a goalie going back… that is still at the (e2) stage.

The Tampa deal to a Western team is "getting closer" according to my source. Although the source could not tell me, another source told me it is LeCavalier, and if Tampa can't get value they will look to the Rangers and try to move St. Louis to NY. Montreal and Colorado also have their eyes set on Vinny, and could get more involved "mid-week if there is no resolution."
