Random Notes from the Weekend

- The Predators win over Chicago had to be a confidence booster, providing a little momentum as the Music City heads to TO for a game against the Leafs… who are looking to break their eight game losing streak.

- The Coaching Carousel just took another spin as the New York Islanders have fired Scott Gordon. Kinda like the Dallas Cowboys… it’s just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

- Great article in today’s Nashville City Paper about the business side of the Predators, ticket sales and the new leadership of the business. As always, outstanding reporting from David Boclair and JR Lind… bet you I don’t see a word about this anywhere in the traditional media.

- All-Star ballots are available today.

- This is almost too easy… yesterday’s Rangers/Oilers game featured a hat trick from Marian Gaborik… and a sucker punch from Sean Avery. Nashville’s favorite pest comes to town in a couple of weeks…

- Preds are on the road again… tomorrow in Toronto, Thursday in Montreal… then Saturday, a bunch of us crazies will go on the Second Annual SlapShot Radio road trip to Carolina, that’s going to be fun.

- Thoughts and heartfelt prayers to Luke Richardson and his family on the loss of their 14 year old daughter Daron. No parent should ever have to bury a child…
