I must admit, I really enjoy pre-season games with division rivals. It makes the game a tad more exciting as I thought the Devils/Flyers game was a very exciting game for the first game collectively.

A few points I took from the game;

1- Urbom can only develop. The team is high on the younf Dman, he played well with countryman Tallinder and showed some confidence making a few leaps into the offensive zone. I am very excited to see if he can continue to develop which may be at the cost of Bryce Salvador.

2- Josefson looked good and ideally could be a third line Center in this year's lineup. Due to our depth chart it seems he may have an edge on Tedenby in the starting lineup. Im excited to see Tedenby tonight.

3- Adam Mair could be a solid 4th line role player at a reasonable price. He along with Nilson could make an interesting 4th line with LeBlond at a very reasonable price.

4- Marcus Nilson still trying to make the team. He didnt really stand out but didnt play bad either. He could be a player that could step into a 3rd line role if injuries happen.

5- Zubrus really stood out and had a nice jump to his game. Question is; Can he be consistent?

6- Corrente seems to be getting a bit more comfortable and confident. I like his snarl. I like his attitude.

Tonight a few themes I am looking forward to seeing;

1- Parise/Zajac/Kovalchuk. Enough said. After the entire saga we are ready for hockey and this line will have to pay dividends.

2- Tedenby and Gelinas I am looking forward to seeing on the ice.

3- Rolston. I am curious as to his play and who he gels with as linemates.

Devils lineup not announced but Jan Levine (Rangers blogger) posted the Rangers projected lineup;

Forwards: Alex Frolov-Derek Stepan-Marian Gaborik, Brandon Dubinsky-Erik Christensen-Mats Zuccarello, Ruslan Fedotenko-Tim Kennedy-Brandon Prust, Derek Boogaard-Brian Boyle-Dale Weise.

Defensemen: Mark Staal-Dan Girardi; Ryan McDonagh-Michal Rozsival; Alexei Semenov-Mike Sauer.

Goaltenders: Martin Biron. Chad Johnson.

Should be an interesting game.

I will also post my interview with Jared Ramsden, Devils correspondant for HockeysFuture.com later tonight. Jared shares his insight with out prospect depth.

Truly yours,
