First of all, sorry for being AWOL but a new transition with my career/business has kept me extremelly busy. Plus not alot to report from the Devils front in the meantime.

Lou Lamoriello and the Devils continue their ways and, as always, not much news or excitement for us Devils fans to feed off of.

Brylin and Pandolfo, set to become UFAs July 1st if not resigned, remain with open commu

Aside from the players on the ice, Lou the man is responsible for turning the New Jersey Devils from a Mickey Mouse organization to a perennial team to be concerned with full of history in their 26+ years in the NHL (more accolades than teams twice as old).

Devils sign D Anssi Salmela

Last week the Devils signed Finnish defenseman Anssi Salmela to his first contract.

The Devils addressed the need of a scoring dman by adding the 23 year old who lead the Finnish league in goal scoring with 16 and added another 16 assists playing every game for his club Tappara, a career year.

At 5’11’, 190 lbs and a left handed shot he will be given a chance to crack the Devils lineup c

Zetterberg/Datsyuk or Crosby/Malkin? That is the question!

As I watch the Stanley Cup Finals the offensive matchup keeps coming to mind over and over.

Last night I asked myself, which combo would I pick; Zetterberg and Datsyuk or Crosby and Malkin?

I understand there is an age difference therefore you can pick one combo to win now, and one combo for years to come.
I also understand there may be salary issues. We will leave that out for now.

Jared, thank you for taking time with me again to give us an update on some of the Devils up and comers.

Random East thoughts...

As the Devils bowed out I have been following the playoffs and the Flyers. Like Ek says, it is a fun team to watch right now. Plus Philly (south jersey) fans are the best when the team is doing well so you cant help but get caught in the fun.

Coach Stevens I think has matured alot as a coach (If you recall there were doubters along mid-season). I thought when he called out the refs in the 3r
