Bob McKenzie Tweeted the following...
"May be busiest two weeks in NHL for trades since the lockout, outside of deadline days of course. Lots of teams looking to do big things."

I completely agree.

Here are some quick hits for your afternoon, with another blog right on the heels of this one.

* As dominant as he was, Dustin Byfuglien may have to be moved for the Hawks to get down to where they need to be.

* Tomas Kaberle more and more likely to get dealt. But only if the Leafs get someone who can help them immediately. Today's rumoured teams are Pittsburgh, Anaheim, and Carolina.

* A source when discussing of Spezza will be moved: "There is very little that separates the need to move Heatley last summer and the need to move Spezza this summer. The Senators are just handling this one better."

* Ray Whitney is very sought after right now. The Sabres and Islanders are the most interested. There will be other suitors prior to the draft.

* Chris Mason is perhaps one of the top 5 "Diamonds in the Rough" when it comes to UFA's. When can you get a goalie, an established starting goalie with numbers that are right there with some of the best in the game for 3-4 million? There is a reason Chris Mason was called upon as a reserve for Team Canada last Olympics. Mason's lifetime save percentage is .914, and his GAA is 2.54. More on this later, including teams interested.

* According to sources, the Flyers are considering a few offers for Braydon Coburn as we speak. Vancouver is highly interested.

* Make no mistake about this one...In the next few days we will will see the NJ Devils trade Kovalchuk's rights..

* Gonchar is looking like a stronger and stronger bet to Ottawa.

more to come..
