The first HockeyBuzz Radio Road Trip was a smashing success. We had about 150 fans attend as part of the HBR group, we estimate that there were quite a few more Pred fans in the house last night as things got pretty noisy when the Preds stormed back to win.

- Thanks to the St. Louis staff, including Jason Penning… they were wonderful in their help and hospitality. The staff was helpful in getting us credentialed and explaining exactly where to go. It was much appreciated.

- Also, sending out some thanks to the crew at Imo’s Pizza at 20th and Olive for hosting us. We had a huge group of fans come in to meet before the game and their service was excellent!

- I really enjoyed the Blues opening last night... especially the live singing of "When the Blues Go Marching In." Kinda cool...

- Kudos to the St. Louis fans, especially those in 322-323 who put up with our antics and gave as good as they got. Every time a “Let’s Go Predators” chant began, they answered well. They were good sports and we appreciated their welcome.

-I was a little surprised at the mass exodus that occurred after the Preds took a 3-2 lead with just a shade under three minutes to go… a bemused Blues fan (one that was staying put!) explained that they were used to third period collapses and that was becoming a tradition.

- It’s a shame the weather didn’t cooperate, it was a cold and rainy day in St. Louis, but Pred fans were out in force. We saw them all over downtown, at the arch, and on the road driving to and from.

- Big thanks to the broadcast crew, Willy and Tom on pre-game... Pete Weber and the FS Tennessee gang for having us on the air and showing pictures of the gang around St. Louis.

- Special thanks to the heart and soul of HBR, Denise McCann, who had the road trip idea and drove it. You can check out her pictures of the trip at hocleybuzzradio.com. They should be posted later today

In the “We just can’t seem to avoid ‘em” department, the joy in the Preds taking over 5th in the conference is tempered by a few things, LA having three games in hand, etc… but mostly, San Jose’s drop to 4th has Pred Nation wondering what they gotta do to avoid the Sharks in the first round.

I’m just sayin’…
