First off, Happy St. Patrick's Day to all.
Here is an Irish prayer that St. Patrick gave the Irish in 452 A.D. For centuries it has been whispered in the ear of each Irish lad on the day before he receives his first corkscrew.

"For those who are with us
May God turn their fortunes bright.
For those who are against us
May God turn their hearts towards us.
And if God cannot turn their hearts
May he at least turn their ankles.
So we may know them by their limp!"

Here is hoping we turn the Penguins' ankles tonight!

It is a special night as it is Rock Your Green as the Devils wear their vintage Red and Green jerseys for one night only. These jerseys are often referred to as the Christmas Jerseys.

Many fond memories we Devils fans have of this jersey. From Wayne Gretzky's comments referring to the Devils as a "Mickey Mouse organization" to a three-time Stanley Cup Champion and perennial playoff team who boasts the best goalie in the history of the NHL. (yes, I am biased). Look who is Mickey Mouse now!

It is nice to see the Devils do something different. Lou Lamoriello has stuck to tradition and avoided jumping on the third jersey bandwagon as well.
Here are some of the comments he made to Rich Chere of the Star Ledger;

“I think it’s a fantastic thing to bring it back, but I’m not a believer in having a third jersey. A one-time thing is great,”... “I go back to the Yankees and great organizations with their tradition of uniforms. I think some organizations have made a mistake with third jerseys and the (financial) return is not as great as people think."...“If it was done once a year I wouldn’t be against it, but not as a third jersey.”

Who can argue with Uncle Lou?

Did you know... Martin Brodeur is the only current Devils to have worn the original red and green jerseys. His break in number with the Devils was 29, not the 30 he has worn for most of his career.

Paul Martin is a "possible" for tonight's game. I am sure he would like to wear the red and green.
If the Devils have a chance to win the Atlantic this is a must win game. But most importantly the Devils need to put a string of wins and consistency prior to playoffs. The do come to play against top teams and this is just another test, especially if the Devils ever match up agains tthe Penguins deep in the playoffs.

Congrats to Martin Skoula whos son, Vojtech, was born Sunday.

Playoff atmosphere and the Devils need to show up. Especially the Devils new superstar Mike Mottau!

Lets go Devils!!!

Truly yours,
