Well, that was an interesting one. A 7-4 blowout that had almost everything except a penalty shot and the heavyweight bout that everyone expected between Wade Belak and Zenon Konopka. Seven goals, seven different scorers, all four lines contributing, not bad for a game that could’ve been looked at as a “trap game.”
A couple of notes…
- The Lightning dressed eight d-men last night… and scratched Alex Tanguay. Desperate times calling for desperate measures?
- Steve Stamkos is the real deal, completely undressing Shea Weber, scoring a very pretty goal for the Lightning in the first period. The kid can fly.
- and speaking of kids… the Lightning dressed three teenagers last night.
