OK, let's start another streak... |

After a sobering loss to the rival Flyers the Devils face the Predators tomorrow night away from home.
The Devils looked a bit slow but I was surprised at the amount of chances they created in the third period.
Brodeur's rare puck turnovers cost them a few goals but at the end the Flyers came to play.
Patty Elias still a step behindhad a few points. He is the darkhorse we need to step up, obviously it will take time. I just hope there isnt too much pressure on him to hurry things. He should play again and time will tell.
What a goal by Parise in the final seconds of play? Hard working he roofed a shot in the middle of a traffic jam. a goal scorer's goal. A thing of beauty.
The injury bug still with the Devils as Oduya, Martin, Pandolfo, Niedermayer are not in sight for a comeback. No news as usual. Same with Dean McAmmond who is still sick.
Lets see what team shows up in Nashville, I fully expect them to be refocused and sharper.
Cory Murphy, who I thought made the most of his stint back with the big club, was sent back to Lowell. Tyler Eckford, AHL's player of the week, was recalled and may be given a shot in the lineup. Im looking forward to seeing Eckford's playing style.
Speaking of Lowell... are on a 5 game winning streak which tied a franchise record.
Here are some stat leaders, a few who have come up already:
Goals: Tim Sestito (7)
Assists: Vladimir Zharkov (17)
Points: Vladimir Zharkov (13)
PIM: Louis Robitaille (98)
Plus/Minus: Rob Davison, Tyler Eckford, Nathan Perkovich, Vladimir Zharkov (+9)
Wins: Mike McKenna (6)
G.A.A.: Mike McKenna (2.41)
Save %: Mike McKenna (.921)
Like Bergfors, I am hoping Zharkov continues to develop. I am excited about him.
Former Devil and future Hall of Famer, Brendan Shanahan calls it a career after 21 seasons. Shanahan has given Devils and NHL fans great memories and has been a great NHL ambassador in his long career. They don't make Shanahan's anymore and I put him up with the likes of Brett Hull, Keith Tkachuk and the Chris Chelios' of hockey. A tough nose grinder that came every night to play.
He finished his career as the second-leading goal scorer for left wingers.
All the best to Brendan and his family, cant wait to see what his next steps are with his career.
Truly yours,
The Devils Advocate
