A nice way for the Devils to take over 1st by dominating a slumping and injured defending Champs. Also tie the Caps for the lead in the East. Some things never change.
Another confident road win to put us at 9-0 to start the season away from The Rock.

But it is still business as usual for the Devils and this is simply something nice to talk about.
Coach Lamaire put it best when asked after the game what 1st place meant;
“Nothing at all,” ...“There is lots of hockey to be played.”

And I agree.

The Devils as a whole played well.
Parise/Zajac/Bergfors developing very nice chemistry and warrants staying intact althought Langenbrunner must be itching to be reunited with his old mates. Im happy Bergfors is playing well and playing confident, I thought once his early season snake bite would eventually break out and he would do well.

Rolston and Zubrus had good games. Im really hoping Elias could elevate the second line scoring when he gets fully healthy.

Andy Greene added another goal and played steady.

What happens when Pandolfo, Niedermayer, McAmmond, Martin, Oduya are healthy?
Well.... Fraser should go back down along with Murphy and Sestito. Halischuk I wouldnt be surprised if went back also.
Pelley will be on the outside looking in as Pando gets back and McAmmond should get a taste of the big club.

The Devils are on good pace now. Getting our top 2 Dmen back will only solidify the D.
Getting back defensive veteran depth up front will allow the Devils to rest some top guys while on the PK.

Marty I think is playing well and no issues there.

We should be deep and comfortable, perhaps a trade? I always say that.
In an interesting note, Darren Dreger of TSN reporting that Scott Niedermayer could be trade bait. Could a reunion with his Brother Rob in NJ happen? I wouldnt rule it out. The question is, what would it take to bring such a piece over to the Devils?
Too early to speculate but would be nice.

These winning streaks are typical for Devils teams. These consistent wins make much headway on the point raking. Ideally it would be nice to have a comfortable playoff position and allow Marty to sit a few games towards the latter part of the season. But then again, that will always be Marty's call.

After a battle of fist place in the Atlantic the Devils play the Capitals on Saturday on what could be the battle for first in the East

Good win. I am very happy with how the Devils are playing but there is alot more hockey to be played.

Lets go Devils!

Truly yours,
