How bout them Devils?

The Devils played a very good game tonight against the defending Champs. And improved their road record to 5-0 this season.
Yes, the Pens played last night but the Devils played a solid 60 minute game losing Brodeur's record midway in the third.

Mark Fraser playing in his first game, first shot, this season scored in the opening period. A bad goal let in my MA Fleury but it counts. Ironically it was the first NJ goal this season by a Dman.
Bergfors had another goal, I mentioned before that he needed to get that first goal in. He is playing very well and confident.
Speaking of confidence, Travis Zajac looks better and better every game. He is showing much of his skill of late as well.
Zubrus played another good game and making things happen out there. He is a much better player this season.
Parise, what else can you say? He is the man.
Brodeur played a very good game doing a great job of controlling rebounds. The one juicy rebound he let up was went to Goligoski's skate for the Pens only goal. He made some very good saves all game. This was his best game of the season.
Rolston still needs to improve a bit more, he was involved alot. Maybe he ends up on Elias' line, Elias makes other players better. I think a line shuffle of Rolston/Elias/Bergfors could be interesting.
The Defense played well as a unit and Colin White with his new "diving pokes" had a good game.
Paul Martin left in the third period with an injury but no news on it. He did get hit in front of the net with a shot towards the latter part of the period. Jay Pandolfo also was injured on a hit from former Devil Mike Rupp on the boards.

After a tough first couple of games this season the New Jersey Devils seem to be settling into their own. I must say I am happy with the job Coach Lemaire is doing. the Devils look very well positioned and also very disciplined. The team also looks a little tougher to me.

As I said before, this team doesnt necessarily "excite" me but if they keep playing like this it will be yet another typical Devils team. Cant wait till Elias gets back.

Good game, good win. Lets spread some of this to my beloved Yanks!

Truly yours,
The Devils Advocate
