The Dog Days are certainly here… not much news coming out of Pred Nation

Prediction season is beginning and the results are so far … well… predictable.

> The Hockey News has the Preds finishing 10th in the conference and last in the division.

> Sports Illustrated’s Allan Muir has the Preds last in the division as well and 13th in the conference, even though he says to not underestimate the team…

Most all the other’s I have seen have the Preds in that 10-13 slot for the conference standings… I’ve yet to see one that has the team out of the basement in the division. The criticism of GM David Poile is pretty strong for not adding another winger to the team to augment the Legwand/Erat line.

Is anyone else wondering if Mark Messier can project some heart into the Rangers lineup from the Assistant GM role?

I really feel a bit sorry for Patrick Kane… a 20 year old kid trying to navigate the treacherous waters of fame and celebrity… sheesh, I’d hate to see some of the stuff I pulled at that age be subject to the same scrutiny… that being said... I hope he learns his lesson from this.
