Ok, sorry for the sarcastic title but two in one day??!!

First we acquire Yan Danis who kept the Isles in his share of games last year while being left to dry. Not a bad signing along with Jeff Frazee I am happy. As usual no details of the contract released but I expect it to be towards the lower end of the pay scale or else we could have resigned Weekes who Lamoriello hints is not completely out of the picture yet.

The Devils also aquired Tim Sestito, a young LW, from the Oilers for a conditional pick. He played on NHL game with the Oil and he provides depth in Lowell as we expect a few youngsters to crack the big team's lineup.

Hockeysfuture.com had this to say about Sestito:

A feisty competitor, Sestito has carved out a niche for himself as an energy/checker that a coach can feel comfortable with putting on the ice in key shutdown situations. He doesn’t have much offensive upside and is very susceptible to taking minor penalties. Another typical character, depth, utility player in the system but one that has impressed the organization with his work ethic.

Was a coach’s favourite last year in Springfield and likely will be again in the coming season. The Oilers signed Sestito to a 2-year extension which will keep him in the organization until the summer of 2010.

Right up the Devils alley, Lamoriello compares him to a Rod Pelley kind of guy. Not bad for a conditional pick.

No Coach announcement till next week as there are finalizing to be done in discussions, according to Uncle Lou. Also talks with Shanahan are ongoing.

Thats it for now...

Truly yours,
