I know the Devils have lost after my blogs of late, but during this slump we need a knee in the groin! This is where I step in.

More than just another game, tomorrow's tilt between the Devs and Rags will have alot on the line.
Bragging rights - always.
A psycho edge in what could be a first round matchup? - Absolutely.

Personally, Im sick of talking about Avery and Brodeur. How about talking about (and this killsme because I do not like him) how effective Avery can be as a hockey player when he focuses on that and cuts the crap? He has given the Rangers, and their fans, a pickup and intensity. This could also be something that could be a distraction for the Devils.
The Devils need to focus and maintain their discipline. A Clarkson/Avery scrap in the first 5 minutes could do the job to put his presence aside.

Coach Sutter said the Devils looked tired in the 3rd period vs Canes as they had arrived late from Chicago and went to bed quite late. That takes a toll even if the likes of Parise was in his hotel room by 9pm the night before the Hawks game.

The final stretch is here, Boston and Washington right there within striking distance. Boston may be a tough one to make up but 2nd and 3rd place is a coin toss at this stage. The Devils can control their own destiny if they play well and get into a groove, this is especially crucial entering the first round.

Devils at the Garden tomorrow, what a scene. As a Devils fan I think this is as exciting as it gets this time of the year. Cant wait for this one.

Pandolfo is on the blog picture as a tribute. One of the most dedicated Devils of all time struggling to find himself in the lineup. It started once Shanahan broke ground in the Devils' lineup and he is now facingan unfamiliar situation in his career fighting for a spot on the team. This one is for Jay, no better character guy. Lets hope there is no bad blood between Jay and Coach Sutter as Jay has already publicly expressed his unhappiness with the situation. The Devils do not need this kind of distraction entering the playoffs, thats for sure.

Lets go Devils!

Truly yours,
The Devils Advocate
