The family reunion continues in New Jersey as Lou Lamoriello will add Shanahan. A typical Lamoriello signing.
As I mentioned in my last blog, Lou will add without subtraction a big piece to a Cup run.
A deal has not yet been signed but Shanny will begin skating in New Jersey and an official contract signed in the next few days.

Shanahan, as Lou mentioned, could be a valuable piece to the Devils power play but I think what he brings to the team in presence, maturity, leadership and maturity will help the Devils get into a deadly mode.

I still, however, dont think Lou is quite done. Lets see what Shanahan brings after the All-star break a re-evaluation will be done.

Shanahan did want to return to the Rangers and had been working our in NY but also had interest from the Flyers, Capitals and Pittsburgh. Recently he was working on ice at Harvard University. He says he feels rested and eager for this "full circle" opportunity to get started. So am I !

The big question is; who is the oddman out of the lineup whenShanny gets back in? One might say Rupp at first but he had a nice game vs LA and showed a tough guy attitude I think we have been missing.

The Devils are looking solid top to bottom up front, we can roll four very interesting and dynamic lines. Perhaps an upgrade on Dmay be Lou's next move, something like Lou picking up Phil Housley years back may be something to speculate.

Time will tell but I am extremelly excited about this year's Devils.

Welcome back Shanny!

Lets go Devils.

Truly yours,
