Bobby Holik thinks he may be practicing in the next few days, Rolston and Madden skating are shooting to come back the latter part of the week. Letourneau-Leblond was recalled also.
May we have a complete lineup vs the Flyers on Thursday? Perhaps.
Good timing as the Devils end their winning streak with a horrible effort against Sid the Kid.

The frustrating thing is that during the Devils win streak we couldnt make up any ground on the standings which is why the Atlantic is the division of death.

Uncle Lou is no hurry but these next few games will give him a better idea of what path to travel trade-wise.
Teams like the Thrashers (Schneider), Sabers (Afinogenov), Dallas (Lehtinen), Blues (Brewer), could all be good trading partners. No info, pure speculation and wishful thinking.

Rich Chere of the Star Ledger reported that Matt Halischuk's knee injury is not as bad as initially diagnised. The ACL tear being partial may allow Matt to play this season. Good news.

Randome notes...
Congrats to Brian Burke and the Toronto Maple Leafs organization. A move like this should have been done years ago when the pieces for a strong cup run was in place. Watch for the Leafs to become an exciting team in the next few years.

The NHLPA set up an auction along with Ebay for the Luc Bourdon Memorial Fund. Autographed jerseys, sticks and other equipment of various players will be auctioned and proceeds to the Fund geared towards scholarships and various youth-related initiatives in honour of Bourdon.

How about Ottawa a Northeast bottom dweller? Who would have thought?

Lets go Devils!

Food for thought...

With the economy hurting around the world, it is only a matter of time for our favorite sports and past times to begin showing the effects trickle down.
Although Gary Bettman says things are ok - for now, one can only speculate on what may come.
May teams, this upcoming UFA season, be reluctant to sign big long term deals? Will we see alot more 1-2 year contracts (some with a team option for the final year)?
How about the salary cap? What if the Cap goes to 50M? What do you do with these huge contracts?
Relocation? I hear my Blackberry vibrating at the thought that Balsillie in the fold again. He could be the savior of a team going broke!
Will teams have a hard time making payroll?

Like I said, this could be a huge topic for a blog in the near future and we can only speculate as the pieces of the puzzle fall into place.
