A new season, the same old Devils. I mean that in so many different ways.
Two games into the season. Winning one goal games. Marty two wins closer.
Our 1st line seems comfortable and confident - a nickname may have to come. Zubrus has certainly (at least for two games) stepped up his physical presence - Quite frankly if he plays this way he will contribute.
If Parise can carry the second line on his back, regardless of whoever his linemates are, and with a third line of Madden/Pando and a cast of many others the Devils could boast a solid lineup. If Zajac contributes to the scoresheet I wouldnt mind seeing Zubrus on this wing to have Parise's back, this could leave an interesting line of Pando/Madden/Langenbrunner.
When was the last time the Devils threw 3 lines that had scoring ability?
Elias needs to be confident which is when he gets creative. We need that.
And I love our depth, I think this is solid:
Elias/Rolston/Gionta
Parise/Zajac/Langenbrunner
Pandolfo/Madden/Clarkson
Rupp/Holik/Zubrus
* other than Gionta at this point, I wouldnt mind shuffling some of those RWs
I cant wait for Salmela to have 15 games under his belt and the D has been average with Paul Martin avg ice time at 25 minutes.
Marty has been ok but not yet really tested. I do like his new logo on top of his helmet. Check out his site at: martinbrodeur30.com
Barring an injury to Marty, Weeks will play about 6-7 games. I caught him on XM's Hockey Confidential and Kevin is a great guy on and off the ice. He is a total team player and professional.
This Devils team is already showing character; dare I say comfort?
As a Devil fan ... I am excited as hell!
Truly yours,
