First of all, sorry for being AWOL but a new transition with my career/business has kept me extremelly busy. Plus not alot to report from the Devils front in the meantime.
Lou Lamoriello and the Devils continue their ways and, as always, not much news or excitement for us Devils fans to feed off of.
Brylin and Pandolfo, set to become UFAs July 1st if not resigned, remain with open communication with Lamoriello. I do not see why they would not be wearing a Devils jersey come opening night; Pandolfo should remain and Brylin maybe a two year deal at much cheaper than his current 1.5Mil player option he holds for this coming year.
Will Pandolfo be our big UFA signing come July 1st??!!
Salvador is still on Lou's list (and mine) but it seems Bryce will test the free agency waters.
Despite not drafting a goalie, Lous did not qualify Jordan Parise (RFA) who is the closest thing to a future Devils netminder in the system. Jordan will remain a Devil but Lou may be up to something. Im still trying to figure out why a netminder wasnt drafted in the second round.
Another RFA, David Clarkson, was tendered an offer and Lou indicated he may be close to signing. Other RFAs to be given offers were Rod Pelley, Ivan Khomutov and Petr Vrana.
Im fishing for Devils stuff but the well is dry... Im just hoping we have a better UFA campaign than last year and add pieces that could step into our top 2 forward lines or top 2 D pairs.
Lou's Cool-Aid...
Sammy Woo asked me a question that I was not able to answer. Maybe it is a brain buster, maybe it is a marketing boo-boo;
"Why the !@$#%* (bleep) do the Devils charge season ticket holders $15 for brown-level seats (four top corners) public only $10 ??!!"
This has caused a few season ticket holders to even cancel their season tickets, and if they want to watch a game they can pay $5 less.
Help me out here, what am I missing? It's like paying extra to kiss your sister!!!
As for July 1st, your guess is as good as mine. I just hope my excitement isnt just waiting to see which player/s our division rivals didnt land.
