The Devils Advocate catches up again with Devils prospect Brad Snetsinger who played with the Windsor Spitfires last season and is looking to move onto the big club. Brad is ranked #12 on Devils prospect list at Hockeysfuture.com

(Devils Advocate) Brad, thank you again for taking time and speaking with me..

Since last time we spoke a lot has happened this year for you and the Spitfires; you had a career year, played in the All-Star Classic, cracked the Top 20 NJ Devils prospects at Hockeysfuture.com, suffered through the untimely death of the Spitfires Captain Mickey Renaud, eventually losing to the Sarnia Sting in the first round of the playoffs.
Can you give us your thoughts and recap of the season?

(Brad Snetsinger) After looking back at the season, I am proud of what I was able to accomplish and what I contributed to the team. Offensively, I posted career highs in goals and assists and was rewarded for my effort by being selected to play in the OHL All-Star Classic, which is something I will never forget. As a team, we accomplished some truly amazing things this year and improved so very much from last season, and I am also very proud of this. Finishing third in a tough Western Conference is something we were all very proud of. Last but certainly not least, signing with the Devils had to be the biggest thrill of my career. I am very honoured that they took notice of me and look forward to working towards being part of the winning tradition in New Jersey.

The death of Mickey was very difficult for team to go through. Mickey was our leader and was someone that each and every person and player on our team looked to in tough times. He was also a great person that would go to bat for any of his teammates in any situation. Mickey is someone that we will always miss and someone I was glad to have known.

(DA) How have you grown as a player over the last year or so?
(BS) My 2 way-game has really improved and Bob Boughner, Bob Jones and D.J Smith rewarded me by playing me on the penalty kill unit, power play and in various other situations. I take great pride in playing hard on both ends of the ice and this is where I think I have made my biggest improvements in the past year.

(DA) Who has been the most influential people for you, both on and off the ice, during your OHL experience?
(BS) Off the ice, my parents have been my biggest influences. They have always been there for me and have really supported me in life and in hockey. My biggest on-ice influence was Bob Boughner. He showed me what it takes to be a pro and play at next level by putting his trust in me and playing me in a variety of different situations.

(DA) This year you have played against some pretty good competition in the “O”, some names that come to mind are Steven Stamkos, Justin Azevedo, John Tavares and Devils prospect Matt Halischuk to name a few. Is there one player in particular that has stood out for you and why?
(BS) Actually, the best player I faced this year was Zach Bogosian, a defenceman with the Peterborough Petes. He is very difficult to play against and was the most impressive, well-rounded player that I have seen this year.

(DA) Have you caught much of the NJ Devils down the stretch and in the playoffs? What were your thoughts?
(BS) I was actually in New Jersey to watch final regular season game and the first two home playoff games. The Devils are a great team and are very well coached. I was very impressed with the team and the organization as a whole and look forward to being a part of everything very soon.

(DA) Are you familiar or friendly with any other Devils prospects? If so, have you had a chance to chat with them about your paths towards the big club?
(BS) I did play one and a half seasons with Michael Swift from the Niagara IceDogs but aside from him I only really know the other guys in New Jerseys system, having played against them in the OHL.

(DA) What does the off-season look like for you both personal and hockey wise? What are you doing in order to prepare for next year?
(BS) Basically, Im working out right now and keeping in touch with New Jersey. Hမm looking to keep working hard during the summer and continue to prepare myself physically so I can make some good impressions at the Devils main camp.

(DA) What has been your discussions/communications with the Devils like of late? What are their immediate plans for you?
(BS) When I have spoken with the club, they have encouraged me to work hard in the summer and come into camp in the best shape I possibly can. From there on, iss just a matter of me working hard and playing well in camp to see where I will end up.

(DA) What does the near future look like for you? Where do you expect to be?
(BS) In the near future and long term, Im planning to work as hard as I can to have a great camp with the Devils and hopefully have a chance to make the team.

(DA) Brad, good luck to you going forward and Devils fans will be rooting to see you up with the big club soon.

Thank you, again, for spending some time with us and we will catch up again soon.

Truly yours,
The Devils Advocate
