Yesterday's deal woke up the rumour mill, that's for certain!

Greetings from beautiful Chicago where I am visiting friends this weekend. I just got this note from a KEY source in Edmonton who informed me that "Since the Canadiens did not get a deal done with Anaheim, they have firmly shifted back to San Jose, and intensified talks with the trade freeze just 4 days away."

Another source had an interesting spin and believed that the Habs may have been "simply using Anaheim as some sort of leverage, and Wilson didn't take the bait."

The Bruins are also in heavy talks with "at least three teams" according to more than one source. Colorado is the leader in this, with Liles being the main target, however Liles is still "very coveted by the Rangers(e4)". The Bruins also are rumoured to have interest in Mike Modano, although two sources have told me that this would be "early prep for a possible deadline deal."

Meanwhile, The Islanders and Coyotes, two teams that talked at length about Jovo this summer, may be talking again, but this time about Derek Morris. I know for fact the Jovo would have been an Islander had he waived his NTC this summer. Jovo has just built a beautiful home in the area and looks to be sticking around, HOWEVER the Rangers are the one team I am told could get him to leave, however that is a deal that would require alot of cap work. I have been told that Rangers do have a plan....

Finally, Stoll to the Blue Jackets(e3) There are denials, and yet......

I am off to enjoy a day in Chi-town, but thanks to my trusted I-Phone, unless I am on an airplane, you are all always with me....
