Round One to Isles

Alright folks, let's not panic just yet. Yes, the Rangers were beaten by the Islanders last night 2-1 and yes, the team's offense seems to be one step behind but there were a few positives in this game:

- The team had plenty of shots last night so it's not like they went silently into the night. The Rangers fired 37 shots on Islanders' netminder Rick DiPietro but this just happened to be one of those nights where DP was outstanding. Throw in a different goaltender in their and this could have very well been a Rangers victory.

- The line of Callahan-Betts-Prucha continues to impress as they constantly drive to the net, muck it up in the corners and generate an array of scoring opportunities.

- Rangers' goaltender Henrik Lundqvist once again had another strong performance, stopping 28/30 Islander shots. He's been one of the main reasons why the Rangers have had a chance to win every game so far.

The goals will start coming eventually and Jagr, who has looked a bit slow to start the season, will certainly find his game as the team continues to gel and get used to each other.

Tomorrow night, the Rangers return home to Madison Square Garden to face the Washington Capitals, who are off to their first 3-0 start since the 1997-98 season when they advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals.
