Update: Please check out the blog Islanders Blogger B.D. Gallof and I did which is now on the main page - BATTLE OF NY!

*******************************************************************

As most Ranger and Islander fans know, the teams will meet tonight at Nassau Coliseum to kick off their regular season series.

With Sean Avery out for four weeks, head coach Tom Renney will try to come up with the best set of offensive lines and for now, the lines look something like this:

Hossa-Drury-Jagr
Straka-Gomez-Shanahan
Callahan-Betts-Prucha
Orr-Dubinsky-Hollweg

On the defensive side, it looks like Strudwick's in and Mara is out. Not quite sure why the team is keeping their highest paid defenseman on the bench but may be Renney believes that Strudwick brings some toughness to an otherwise soft defense.

No matter what, this should be an exciting series of games this season as both teams look to take supremecy in the Big Apple.
