It is certainly tracking that way right now. Pettersson on the second line wing with Lindholm is an interesting wrinkle in the lineup for tonight.

One thing that seems to be missed in the "high stick" by Kane.

The rules don't support a double minor. Period.

Kane obviously was not intentionally trying to even hit Myers. I'm sure Kane can make an incident look a coincidence but he fooled most everyone if so. Most agree Myers fell into Kane as much as Kane high sticked. Kane would absolutely be suspended right now if there was even a question of intent.

So if double minors are not a rules thing. There are 2 choices. 2 min cross checking or 5 minute major. Most agree its not intentional/no suspension/no review/no phone call... nothing.

This technically falls into the 2 minute penalty rule. Doesn't matter if Kane broke his nose teeth +++ it should have been a 2 minute penalty. By the rules.

The refs went above and beyond to break the rules in Vancouver favor. I wasn't mad at the call then, I am not mad at the call now but it was clearly in Vancouver favor.

Only an idiot would be very upset that a 5 minute major wasn't awarded.

Despite not technically being the correct call I think the creativeness of the refs in this case made sense.

Was it a cross check yes bit with Myers falling forward into it its more about Kane being responsible for his stick. Which is far more like a high sticking scenario. With the blood, dbl minor.

Rare case where refs went out on their own in a way that is relatively fair. Might be the first time that's happened.

I can guarantee if the Oilers were scored upon the back half of the 4, the question wouldn't be did this warrant 5 minutes, it would be did this warrant only 2.

Overall officiating has been brutal on both sides with it "generally" being "even". But if we are talking missed calls in favor of Vancouver, they have had far more benefits from them than the Oilers. By luck primarily, as far as I can tell, missed/botched calls have favored Van with 2 goals and Edmonton 0.

Combine that with Vancouver getting the lions share of bounces resulting in goals as well I don't see how Nucks fans can be overly upset by luck/officiating.

Close series where luck/officiating hopefully doesn't play too much more a role in the games moving forward.

This is probably an obviously thing to say but I think whoever wins tonight is going to win the series. Van players got called out but we have some players who need to start picking it up as well. We need people other than our usual suspects to add some offence, and some of our d men need to learn how to clear a puck properly, or just have better puck control overall. Pickards been decent and hopefully he continues to settle in and maybe we can get some of our own 3rd string goalie comes out of no where to play well luck.

Nice gift on the call on Petey. Doesn’t whine good enough like McPu$$y.

C’mon let’s hear an Oiler fan response unless yer a gutless total homer.

McFlop gets the 2min dive I mean the soft call. Never could figure out why the Oil aren’t on the PP 60mins a game. It’s criminal.

We’re in store for another epic game today. Very little separates these teams. Oil cannot rely so heavily on the PP. Don’t figure it out then done like dinner.
