That is our answer, top line please - Bowkes
And he scored against the Devils...all it takes for a tough guy is to score a goal against the Devils in the final season of his contract, and he's on the team the next year.

Why? And you wonder why we Leafs fans have a bad rep. - Allstarzz
The funniest part is, he doesn't know poop. If the Devils had a competitive offer for Parise, I'm pretty sure they could afford Semin on a one or two year deal, but it's not worth reasoning with some people.
I've read that rumor is false. I hope we take a decent shot at him. Yeah there's a potential risk but think about Kovy and Semin on the same line.
Plus then when Malkin's a UFA next year he can come play with his russian buddies.
Semin - Malkin - Kovalchuk

What looks good on paper isn't always what looks good on the ice. Malkin and Kovalchuk play identical styles and probably wouldn't have ideal chemistry, especially with Semin. Even Kovy and Semin are both shooters; it'd benefit Zajac to play with them because he's an excellent 2 way center, but not so much that they play with each other.
idk. i think you can have too many tough guys when one is taking a spot in the lineup that should be filled by a skill player. I do like him, I just.. we already have a 4th line.. we already have a healthy scratch in Janssen.. meh.
Semin has tons of skill, but the work ethic is questionable. Maybe playing with Henrique, Kovy, Elias and DeBoer will keep him working hard. We have the money, but I don't want to spend a lot on a player that may not bring it in the playoffs.
Mueller may be injured during the playoffs, but I feel more confident that he'll show up if healthy.. an for 3-4 mil less than Semin.
Wellwood is another interesting option that's been thrown around here. I think Mueller will put more pucks in and is more assertive than Wellwood, but I'd rather have Wellwood than nothing.
I think Tedenby will get another shot and will succeed. He has 101 NHL games under his belt, had an ok rookie year on that horrible team, struggled last year. Hopefully he's stronger and can surprise us this year.

we'd actually have a top line of 3 great players! ZZpops had tenacity, EGG had lots of skill, but this would be a beast top line. I'd be ok with Zajac leaving if we got Malkin lol. With Malkin, we'd have too many centers anyway.
But theres no way its going to happen. Pitt let Staal go, they'll keep Malkin and Crosby as their 1-2 punch. We'd never offer the cash to land Malkin anyway. .. let alone Semin.
