So, we've seen a couple of moves thus far this summer. Here's what I feel the roster looks like at the moment:

Cami ----- Center --- Iginla
Baertschi - Cervanka - Hudler
Glencross - 3rd Center - Comeau
Jackman - Jones - Bouma/Nemisz

Gio - Wideman
Smith - Butler
Brodie - Sarich/Babchuk

So... that leaves out some pretty big pieces...

- Tanguay
- Bouwmeester
- Backlund

Personally, I don't mind the defense without Bouwmeester if (big IF) Gio can take that next step to be a top pairing dman

So, the question is, can Bouwmeester and Backlund get a return for someone that may not be a true #1 center, but can play those minutes?

Examples for return:
- Patrick Berglund from St. Louis

Bouwmeester + Backlund + 4th round for Berglund? would you?

I know Feaster is in love with Tanguay, so I honestly don't see him moving, but it seems like with the wingers they have now, it seems like there are too many "smaller, skilled" wingers.

I think St. Louis tells you to take it up the ass with that kind of a deal.

Not "tossing him out" per say. I just don't think there is a spot anymore on the roster.

Jones is a better checking center, and he's hasn't shown he'll be able to keep a top 2 center role.

So maybe he can be used as an asset to a team that believe's in him more then the fanbase does.

Tanguay will be in the top six and deserves to be in the top six

This is why this team would be ragged on in a rebuild. A player doesn't become a superstar within a couple years and the fans give up on them.

Sad really....

Tanguay-Cammalleri-Iginla

Comeau-Jones-Jackman

Giordano-Wideman

Sarich-Brodie

can't get rid of jbo right now. if we do get rid of him it'll be for another cheaper defenceman. our d is ok right now and if you take out jbo who will defend the other teams top line ups.

This is the time to unload Bouwmeester on another team. There are no half-decent d-men out there, GMs are probably getting desperate. Drop that salary, try and get some draft picks/prospects, and give the team some cap space.

I think this is the most likely roster barring any trades between now and the start of the season (whenever that is).

However, with the Weber situation in Nashville I wonder if they might be willing to take on Bouwmeester (and Babchuk for that matter). The Preds have a bunch of serious defensive prospects and might be persuaded to let go of one to get a big minute defender with a fair bit of experience.

Don't even know if he is a full time NHLer.
