I think the Habs did extremely well in this draft. I wanted Galy, I think he will be good. Collberg I've had an eye on for a while, he fell further than he should have. Dalton thrower is a beast. Exactly what you guys need. You cleaned up. Which is good, your organization desperately needed it.

Habs chose 6/7 from the Hockey News Draft Preview top 100:

Galchenyuk #7
Collberg #14
Thrower #29
Bozon #43
Vail #58
Hudon #80

(THN has several NHL scouts contribute to this yearly issue)

What I find amazing is according to reports, if Edmonton would have taken Murray #1, and Columbus would have taken Galchenyuk #2, the Habs would have apparently taken Teravainen #3 with Yakupov slipping to at least #4.

Yep, Temmins (sp?) had Galchenyuk #1 and Teravainen #2 on his list.

he probably said that because he knew Yakupov was not gonna be available for the 3rd pick.

I would cringe if my teams scouting department had Teravainen or Rielly ahead of Yakupov.

I think it's pretty funny that both Toronto and Montreal claim they got the #1 rated player (by their scouts) in the draft. I would bet money if they actually had the 1st overall neither of those 2 players would have been taken.

Seeing Burke take Rielly at #1 would have been epic though.

Ironically enough the Oilers didn't even have either Rielly or Galchenyuk rated in their top 5. Time will tell which scouting department had it right I guess..

Lots of scouts feel Teravainnen will be a legit #1 C. He's also almost a full year younger than Yakupov.

It drives you crazy that many teams scouts preferred other players, doesn't it?

Teravainen was definitely on the Habs list but he would not have been taken 3rd. Habs would have dealt that #3 pick, slid down and then would have selected Teravainen at whatever spot they slid to.
