My daughter has decided that she's afraid of her crib recently. Bedtime is a long process.

Welcome to my world....the kid is in our bed by 5 or 6am until he wakes up at 830. I have a new found respect for my wife these days.

Ok before i get off work here are my thoughts and predictions:

1.) I believe MG waites to see if Lou really wants out and uses that time to garner interest in Cory.

2.) Once teams find out that both goalies are in play there will be a bidding war with said number of teams

3.)Loungo will NOT be traded and Cory, Ballard, raymond, +prospect and Vans 1st rounder ends up in CBJ for #2 pick and S.Mason and R.Nash

4.) IF the preds are knocked out again in the second round, you will see Nash traded for Weber plus a connaughton type prospect and or draft pick included.

5.) IF the preds win the cup forget #4

6.) Nash stays with Van, malhortra stays in the minors for cap room

7.) My team looks like this: with nash

Sedin Sedin NASH
Booth Kes Burr
Higgins Lappy Hansen
Kassian ? Volpatti

tanev edler
hammer bieska
rome ?

Lou
Mason

8.) My team with Weber

Sedin Sedin Burr
Booth Kes Higgins
kassian Schroeder ?
Volpatti Lappy bitz

weber edler
hammer bieska
tanev rome ?

Lou
Mason

9.) Now having said this there are question marks because MG will pick up some 3rd or 4th liners who can play ok. and maybe that kid schultz so plug in somwhere I don't believe schroeder is ready but if the weber deal happens that might be the only option. So there is my take. I am tired and at work so I hope you go gentle on me

Yeah... that's not going to work... Weber and Nash both are 7.5 mil cap hits each, you'd need to shed more salary to be able to fit either into the lineup.

People do not understand that a team like the Leafs or Oilers who have not made the playoffs in years , and Luongo is the missing piece ,once they make the playoffs his salary is paid by revenue in which they have not seen in years.

As a fan of a team supposedly interested in Luongo, the contract length doesn't concern me. There is every reason to believe that he will retire prior to his contract expiring whiping the dollars right out of the picture. $5.3million cap hit for a goaltender with his resume is not bad at all! There will be a market for him, and it will be large. Roberto is a great goalie; it didn't work out in Vancouver for whatever reason, but that doesn't change the fact that he is beyond talented.

I feel tampa makes the most sense.... and I also believe that Luongo would make Tampa a top 5 eastern team... possibly top 3 if another piece or 2 are added to the backend/bottom 6.

Although I'm not a big fan of Malone.... I think Malone, Connolly and a 3rd would be fair. What do you think is a fair deal?

to Toronto - Kiprusoff, Calgary's 2012 1st round pick
to Calgary - Scrivens, Colborne, Schenn, D. Tucker

Toronto gets the #1 goalie they need, locked up for two more years and an extra 1st round pick. Calgary gets younger with a quality backup, a forward prospect and a young top 4 d to replace Regehr and takes on $1m in salary and cap for Tucker's buy out.

to Vancouver - Iginla, Calgary's 2013 1st round pick
to Calgary - Luongo

Vancouver gets the leader and top 6 forward they need to take the next step and Calgary is locked up in goal for the next five plus years.

In the process, Calgary sheds more than $1 m in cap space but increases the roster by two players that can contribute right away.

It would never happen, a Calgary Vancouver trade, Luongo agreeing to play in Calgary, Iginla agreeing to come to Vancouver, but what the heck.
