I think you're right.....At least he got his cup.

I do not want Nash, BTW.

I'd love to get Doan in Boston for a year or two.

7 a year for 5 years?

Don't forget, we traded down with NJ in that draft. We ended up with Stuart.

Any idea what else we got? Please don't tell me it was the pick that got us Masi Marjamaki

I can support this, especially if Horton is done.

We need something big in terms of offense. Parise and a top-4 D as priorities and I like our makeup for next season.

Good news: We've seen the last of Corvo in a spoked-B

Currently Under Contract for 2012/13 Season

Forwards:

M.Lucic($4.08m) - D.Krejci($5.25m) - N.Horton($4.00m)
B.Marchand($2.50m) - P.Bergeron($5.00m) - T.Seguin($3.55m)
Open Slot - R.Peverley($3.25m) - J.Caron($1.10m)
Open Slot - Open Slot - S.Thornton($1.10m)

Forwards Total = $29.83m

Defense:

Z.Chara($6.92m) - D.Seidenberg($3.25m)
A.Ference($2.25m) - J.Boychuk($3.37m)
A.McQuaid($1.57m) - T.Krug($1.7m)

Defense Total = $19.06m

Goaltenders:

T.Thomas($5.0m)
Open Slot

Goaltenders Total = $5.0m

Buyouts = $0.258m

Grand Total = $54.15m

Tuuka is obviously the #1 priority and then Kelly. I think we can fill out that 4th line with prospects but I would still like Campbell back. Have a feeling Paille might be gone as he will likely want something closer to $2m per.

The health of Horton is key....they said they expect him back 100% but nothing is certain with a concussion. Lots of work for Chiarelli, the one positive is that the Core is in place and the D looks good.

I'd like Doan, a top 4 D, and Tuukka for a 3 to 4 year deal.

Lots of people in Boston ripping on Lucic today. A virtual no show this year in the playoffs

I think it's time we trade Timmy. It's tuukkas time. Also Hamilton is going to be a stud on our d line. Kids tearing it up in junior right now.

anyone is tradeable so if it is a good deal we should look at it...having said that, i would like Rask to get more games and TT be the mentor/experienced guy...not sure if TT would be happy with that though

Lots of uncertainty ...

Will a new CBA be agreed upon over the summer or will we have another lockout?

In the new CBA, will all bonuses, both those attained and those unattained, still count toward a player's cap hit?

If everything is worked out with a new CBA, what will the cap be next season? Will it go up or down?

Hate to say it but I have a bad feeling about this CBA. Dont think we will lose a full season but a lockout until xmas wouldnt surprise me.

(frank) I hope not. Hopefully everyone's learned from the last go-round.

One thing I'd like to see addressed is guys going from entry-level contracts to making 7 million + a season. There needs to be some kind of mid-level/2nd contract that is capped to bridge the gap between the two, IMO. Nothing wrong with making the big $$, just would like to see more of a progression in getting there.

The owners have absolutely no room to female dog this time around. They gave all of their idiot GM`s a free go at it and now every medicore UFA gets $4m a season. Case in point...

The last CBA all but eliminated the bridge contract.

I'd like to see a 4-5 million dollar cap for 2nd contracts.

I'm worried about this one with Donald Fehr helping the players. The refusal to sign off on the realignment was a shot across the bow...and not a good sign

Just Richarding around on Cap Geek and came up with a few different scenarios.

Assuming Horton is back:

1. Re-signing most of the free agents. Gone are Pouliot, Rolston, Zanon, Corvo, and Mottau. I'm assuming Hamilton will be in the lineup next season as he is stuck in a Seguin-esque scenario: Too good for Junior but too young for the AHL. I'm also expecting that Krug will be getting his pecker wet in the AHL next season rather than sticking with the Bruins right off the bat.

http://capgeek.com/cap-ca...ulator/roster.php?id=1851

2. Letting Kelly, Paille, Poo, Rolston, Zanon, Corvo, and Mottau walk, promoting Lane McDermid, and adding David Jones.

http://capgeek.com/cap-ca...ulator/roster.php?id=1852

3. Defense addressed by adding Bryan Allen. Poo re-signed. Hamilton to Junior for another year. Kelly, Paille, Rolston, Zanon, Mottau, and Corvo gone.

http://capgeek.com/cap-ca...ulator/roster.php?id=1858

If Horton is done:

1. The big splash: Adding Parise. Can't see this happening unless Horton is done or a major trade is made to open up space. Even with all of the extra space, adding Parise would really thin out the bottom 2 lines:

http://capgeek.com/cap-ca...ulator/roster.php?id=1859

Personally, after playing with the numbers, I pass on Parise. Probably not worth going big here at the expense of solid depth players.

2. Spreading out the wealth ... Out of all of the scenarios, this one and the next one I think would help us the most. On offense, sign David Jones and P. A Parenteau (or re-sign Kelly in his place). On D, add Bryan Allen. Poo, maybe Kelly, Rolston, Paille, Mottau, Zanon, and Corvo gone.

http://capgeek.com/cap-ca...ulator/roster.php?id=1887

3. For Beer ... Replace Horton with Doan. Sign Bryan Allen on D. Bring Poo and Soupy back. Gone are Paille, Kelly, Rolston, Corvo, Zanon, and Mottau.

http://capgeek.com/cap-ca...ulator/roster.php?id=1891

-------------------------------

So what have I learned? Well first, without Horton going the route of Savvy and calling it a career, there is no chance we can afford Parise. Even if he did retire, it would still be a longshot, and depth would be sacrificed. I've also learned that we don't have enough money to re-sign everybody, so expect some guys to go elsewhere this summer. Kelly may well price himself out of Boston. Zanon, at his current cap hit and assuming a raise on top of that, is not worth the money. Poo fits into some scenarios, but is far from a lock for returning. Paille will likely be gone, and that's fine ... Let him go 1-for-37 on shorthanded breakaways somewhere else

There are some scenarios where Hamilton fits in, and others where he'd have to go back to Junior. I think he's ready, ala Seguin last year, as he's too good for Junior and too young for the AHL. I also think McDermid will find his way onto the 4th line as he will replace Paille and carry a low cap #. I expect Soupy will be re-signed as well.

Weird, but best scenarios to improve the team all-around come with Horton's salary off the cap ...

Apparently Geoff Ward is in charge of the powerplay:

• Plain and simple, if the Bruins had a power play, they’d be in the second round.

Assistant coach Geoff Ward is in charge of the PP. I’d like to be a fly on the wall at his year-end performance review.

If he’s not on the hot seat, he should be.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why the (frank) does Ward still have a job right now ?????

I would have fired his ass last summer after winning the CUP in spite if his horrendous powerplay.
