Just show them the game tape from last night's Pens/Flyers and Nucks/Kings. The Preds need to come out with intensity and purpose because Detroit will be bringing its best game tomorrow night.
I hope Gill is well enough to play that's for sure. |

Game 5 vs. the Hawks would be a better tape only if Erat hadn't destroyed every copy.

The only thing I can think of is that Wilson refuses to play defense and pay attention to that "detail". Even SK plays def now and all the forwards are def responsible at almost all times. So even-though Wilson might be one of the best offensive weapons, he lacks that def mindset that Trotz hails. Im a huge Wilson advocate and hate that he isnt it.
This is the only reason I can think of. Rads is starting to play that way with a lack of def too so he could even get benched too. We will see I guess. It hasnt hurt us yet but if we are to get very far in the this playoff run, Wilson must see the ice at some point. I hope Poile sorta demands that from Trotz if thats possible.

What do you want to bet Wilson has been on the phone with his agent begging to get out of Nashville at the first opportunity? |

Ok guys, let me say this first I think Brendan Shanahan is a genius, ratings are up, sports radio is all the buzz about the playoffs b/c even non hockey fans are watching to see fights, bodies flying and all around meanness and Shanahan is the puppet master. Im telling you, its like Nascar, some ppl watch for the wrecks, watch Daytona or Talladega and all you hear is "drivers need to watch out for the big one". Same thing here....
Also tomorrow is going to be hellish for NSH Detroit is going to come out like a wounded wilder-beast. If NSH can weather the 1st period storm and maybe get one behind howard, NSH wins... Ready the Catfish!!! |

Correct me if I'm wrong but he's only scored 15 points this year? |

The final game of the season when BT inserted Hali, Smith, and Wilson, Hali and Smith I think 'earned' a chance in BT's eyes. So it doesn't surprise me to see Smith in before Wilson. I still don't like it, and I think Trotz's handling of Wilson is a battle of pride now. We'll loose Willy. |

I have come to the conclusion that Willy is a top 6 guy not a BT bottom 6 guy. Hali, Bourque, Yip, & Smith are better BT bottom 6 guys than Willy. Sucks being the 7th best top 6 but thank god the preds have depth! Hornqvist is the only top 6 guy that is not better than Wilson. Horny is extremely valuable on the PP and goes in the dirty areas like nobody else on this team. Wilson will get a shot to play but unfortunately it will be due an injury or poor performance.
I have said it once and I will say it again Wilson is the next Jeoffry Lupal. (sp?)
Maybe Blake Wheeler for Wilson and picks or another prospect??? |

My peanut gallery opinion is that there are deeper issues with Wilson that extend beyond physical abilities or attributes.
Think about it - Trotz, Poile, et al want nothing more than to win, so they are not keeping Wilson on the sidelines out of spite or indifference. There is a valid reason (or multiple valid reasons) that are not being shared publicly. Right or wrong, you can bet that all of the key decision makers are on board with that.

I actually think Rads has played a pretty solid game. He is far and away a better offensive talent then Wilson, and there is no way he gets benched in the playoffs. If you did that why bring him back at all? There have to be other contributing factors to the benching, however I think this is becoming more personal and Trotz is taking to hard of a stand. |

Might be a bad comparison, but Wilson's situation reminds me of Scottie Upshaw. I always liked Upshaw but BT obviously did not. He went in Trotz's doghouse and never left. Was finally traded.
Anyone know if I am barking up the wrong tree? |

Hey buddy! As much as I hate to think that is the truth, you are probably spot on. Somehow Wilson has earned a spot in the Nashville Doghouse. It just sucks because you want to see a guy like that succeed and do well. He has all the makings of a great forward in the NHL. I hope whatever it is can be fixed. If not, I hope we can package him in with a deal to bring in someone who works in our system and I wish Willy the best.
I would agree too that pride is not an issue and winning is the only thing on the mind of Trotz and company. This is probably the most talented team since Forsberg/Kariya decided to hang out in Nash for a while. We have a legitimate shot of making noise in the playoffs and i don't think they would hold out Willy just to prove a point if he could help us win. |

Or Peverly, lets face it, Trotz does not know how to deal with a true offensive talent. How many talented offensive guys have we lost that have gone on to make an impact somewhere else. I think outside of Rads, Wilson has the most upside of any forward we have. The problem is trotz does not know how to utilize that
