Good luck tonight, well, not TOO good.
Hornqvist and McGrattan are out for the Preds. I think you guys come out ahead in the trade off of Zetterberg and Hornqvist being out - you bring in Abdelkader while we counter with Yip.
Should be a fun game to watch with another playoff-type atmosphere. |

I can't get a feel for this game. I can see them coming out with good energy and taking their game to the Preds. But then, I can also see the Preds getting out to an early 2-0 lead and Rinne stealing the rest of the game.
Just saw that Hank is going to take the pre-game skate and might play. I'd almost say sit him and not risk it. |

Most likely, you're right. He'll kick the tires though. If anything, he'll add depth at the bottom of the roster where the prices are cheaper. Not a chance he signs Ruutu or any other free agent we've been discussing here. Top 6 forward/top 4 defenseman cost is going to be ridiculous. |

Eaves is likely done for the season

I don't want to see Nash here. It's going to cost too much. My ideal thought of a Red Wings off season would be Suter and/or Parise , and re-signing Stuart if we could talk him into it. |

Olli Jokinen. No one's talking about him. Could be real cheap. |

The guy i want is Matt Martin (6'3 210) from the Islanders. 264 hits already (on pace for 380 hits this season), can kill penalties, chip in some offense once in a while and can scrap when needed. Only problem is i doubt the Islanders will want to move him since he is only 22 and an RFA this summer. |

wow what a play - wingz4life
I was sure this was going to overtime and likely shootouts but Datsyuk danced in and scored. Nice that the Wings keep the streak going but nicer that the Preds don't get a point out of it. |

Ten points up on Nashville, the Hawks are toast too, now only the Blues in the rearview...... |

Wings need to keep winning at home and start a nice winning streak on the road to keep the Blues behind. |

This was an impressive win. Joey Mac looks awesome. Playing with confidence and challenging the shooters. His positioning has been great. He looks better & better every game. No need to trade for a backup... he's proven that. Looks like Conks will be watching from the broadcast booth.
Now if this team can start to beat San Jose we'll be in good shape for the playoffs.... still hoping Holland can land a top 6 power forward, but I'm not opitmistic with the prices being so high. Getting a depth defenseman is still a possiblity or maybe a solid role player (gritty, tough winger with some size).

Rumor has it the Wings have made an offer to Tampa for Kubina. Would be a nice depth move for a player with size 6'4 258 lbs. More important would be that he is a right handed defenseman that could finally boot Hudler from the point of the 2nd PP unit. Rumor is they have offered a 2nd and 5th round picks for him and are waiting to see if their are on Kubina's list of 5 teams to be traded to. Maybe Holland should up it to a 2nd and a 4th which is what he gave up for Stuart. |

The goal was sweet, the pass from Z was beautiful, but what's getting glossed over here, in my opinion was the play by Lidstrom. He waited for something to develop in stead of just passing it to someone in hopes of making one last break. What patience and vision from Nick. Beauty of a play all around.
Reminds of this goal by Pav about 7 years ago when Markov destroys Stoll and Datsyuk undresses the D and goalie.

Still think that was one of the best plays of all times in hockey. Everything people love about hockey wrapped up in about 4 seconds. Two Russians, so it's not talked about much maybe? |
