Can't wait for this game today. Will be great to see Lindros, Parent, Howe, the Watsons, the LCB line, 2/3 of the Legion of Doom, Hound...hell, all of them.

I'm sure there will be some theatrics with the Rangers alumni, too. There's a lot of history and 'bad blood' between a lot of these players. Should be a fun time for everybody.

In the US, it's on Versus and locally on Comcast Sports Net in Philadelphia. There will probably be some live streams available on the net as well.

Bill...
hell of a write up...I was getting goosebumps going back in time. Great Great memories to say the least and way to many alumni that have past away at a young age.

Looking forward to the game...

Looking forward to the Big E...
Fiance will wear the Big E jersey and I will be wearing a LeClair.

Great job in compiling the tidbits, especially with the lesser known guys. The clips at the end seal the deal...Oooooh La la Sassoon...

I am so strangely happy at the last minute inclusion of Jimmy Watson.

So how many are wearing an old 88 Flyers jersey to the game today?

And how many are finding it a bit snug

If I were in the stands rather than the pressbox today, I'd have probably worn a Lindros jersey. The Mark Howe jersey I got in 1985 no longer fits but still hangs in the coat closet I devote to my collection of jerseys.

I have a Dave Schultz size medium.

Sadly it doesn't fit but it is autographed and I haven't worn it in over 20+ years.

I have a Rod Brind'amour and a Craig Berube that do fit.

the Rangers, their revulsion stoked by the Paul Holmgren-induced welts a shirtless Anders Hedberg would diagram for the New York media,

from a jay greenberg csn article yesterday... anyone know this story?

i'm sure it was posted yesterday but that's a great read

Question:
how many readers here have to work on Monday? I know the NHL is trying to avoid competition with the nfl on Sunday but the majority of ppl I know go back to work on Monday, making a 1pm game impossible to watch.

Awesome read Bill, Thank you!!

Like you, I'm looking forward to the introductions probably more so than the game itself, It's awesome to see a roster of players from all era's in Flyers history, (it seems a little odd though to have guys in there 60's playing with guys in there 40's), but I can't wait, it's going to be an awesome weekend!!

The game after the hat trick game in the 97 playoffs was even better, with the back and forth nature of a high scoring game and Lindros scoring from an impossible angle to win with 6.8 secs left. My favorite Flyers memory. Had so much fun at that one.

I was going to wear it to tailgate with phi1671, but I woke up with a tummy bug. So I guess I'm glad I didn't break down and buy tix the other day. And it still fits as it did. I was fat then, too.
