So now you think the statement is stupid too?
- prock

Yes, your original statement that discounted anything accomplished by the prospects that were part of the Binghamton Senators Calder Cup winning playoff run last year was stupid.

That's why I called you out on that. Your blind hatred of anything related to Ottawa makes you post so many embarrassing statements, that you've had nothing but a steady diet of crow for a month or so now.

Do you still maintain that the leafs are "mile and miles ahead of the Senators in every conceivable category"??

Sens need everything to go perfect to get about 11th spot, and a other teams to tank out along with that. There is one top 6 player on the roster, now that Alfredsson looks to be done for.

I love how Tyler Bozak was better than Daniel Alfredsson last year, and Doppeldouche thinks he's still a good forward.

I've already said I have no expectations of them staying where they are. And while I don't think Ron Wilson is a great coach, he's also not bad enough to let a pretty decent roster slip from where they are now, to the cellar of the East.

I think if you ask sabres fans they'll consider it a disaster.

Hey, things are drastically different than most expected. Maybe we can get a sens leafs first round matchup.

Nice try. The playoffs were nowhere near finished at that time. You posted better AHL team = better prospects. Don't you find it funny I posted YOUR posts, and everyone called them stupid? They're your posts.

Not lower tiered. They're horseshyt. Terrible. It's a roster that arguably doesn't belong in the NHL. I honestly think a game between the Ottawa Senators and the Toronto Marlies would be a close game. Or any other AHL team near the top of the league.
- prock

Sorry, but the Senators are busy preparing for the first round of the NHL playoffs.

Umm, you didn't see the posts as soon as I re-posted your comment?

Surely you believe that the marlies being one of the best teams in the AHL means the Leafs have some of the best prospects in the league. You said the same of the Sens last year.

I've never said what I believe. It was HIS statement, at this time last year, that a better AHL team means that a teams prospects are better. Using HIS logic, HE must believe that. Read his posts.

I would suggest that the Senators AHL team is a reflection on who may have a better group of prospects (at all positions) if you are comparing the two teams in Ontario.

Hell, someone even mentioned that AHL results don't mean much.

It's not, many of the Leafs' top prospects are haven't gotten to the AHL yet.

To which he replied.

How are the marlies doing??

Another gem.

Hummmmmmmmmm Senators AHL club (lots of prospects) playing in the Calder Cup Finals, leafs AHL team finished 13th in conference, did not make the playoffs.............now I wonder how illogical it is to think that perhaps the prospect pool for the Senators is just a little deeper than the leafs prospect pool.

Perhaps if they had retained those first rounders they traded to the Bruins..........................

The Sens had five more regulation wins (this season) than the Leafs. As far as the two NHL teams go, the Leafs were ahead last season, and if the Leafs had NHL goaltending from the beginning of the season, perhaps they would have had a few more wins than the Sens.

However, there is no disputing that Toronto has the better AHL team, and therefore the "prospects" in the Leafs system are doing better than the Sens "prospects" at the AHL level. To say otherwise is plain ridiculous.

All that being said, between now and the beginning of the next season could see a lot of changes on both clubs. The Leafs should draft a good prospect at (currently) the fifth position............or could make some trades, as could the Sens. Then there is the UFA season, and either team could make significant moves.

But as of right now, only the Leafs have players in their system who are still playing meaningful hockey games, while the Sens do not. So to argue that Sens prospects are better than the prospects in the Leaf system just does not hold any water outside of Ottawa.

How many players from Birmingham last year are on a Sens team gearing up to play in the Stanley Cup playoffs I wonder?
