You haven't brought up michalek lately. Why not?

He's not been the same since his concussion, much like Reimer wasn't after his.

I thought it was because teams figured him out?

Well the teams are more focused on him and Spezza now, than they were at the beginning of the season.

All NHL teams pre scout their upcoming game opponents, and highlight the tendencies and weaknesses of the opposing teams players.

I was talking about Reimer. You've been fairly insistent that "the book is out" on Reimer, and they've all figured him out. Now you're referring to the concussion?

I've pointed out the "book is out" point because I seen and heard it on various media outlets, print, radio and television for almost a year.

I'm sure you know what I'm talking about, and that you've heard this too, the Globe and Mail pointed this out last year, and it's still something the Media is talking about.

Shooters have exposed at least one weakness – an often low and slow glove hand – and it’ll be up to the youngster to adapt as quickly as he can.

So, if this was last year, it appears that he adapted to start this year, somehow forgot to adapt around the time of his concussion, and now has now adapted again? Is that what you're saying?

Stop being foolish. You watch Reimer play, and you know he's not perfect, and you've heard the same commentators pointing out that shooters are targeting high gloveside on him. All you have to do is review the highlights on NHL.com, like anyone else can.

If all the teams have figured him out, and he's settling into a subpar goalie, why does he look like he's rounding back into form then? When he shut out the Sens, should I just assume Maclean had some sort of an issue with his library card?

Or, as I said to you many times, because of the timing of everything, is it maybe looking more likely he was having issues with his game because of his concussion? It's strange how some things that are so blatantly obvious to the rest of the world seem to escape you.

Well, Alfredsson is 39, coming off a terrible season, and major surgery. Michalek hasn't put up more than about a 40 point pace in two years. Basically, since he's been off Joe Thornton's wing. At best, these guys are capable of being it, but haven't really been in a while. They have one top 6 forward, and you're hoping two more will be again.

Yeah, Michalek has 2 points in his last 10 games.... Alfredsson still on the verge of retirement.

They were only playing well before because half their roster was playing above their heads.

In terms of getting a high draft pick? I mean, surely the team that supposedly gave the Bruins the biggest challenge are true competitors right?

I'm not losing sleep over their poor performance. Their defense blows since day 1, and there's not much I can do about it.

And yes, they usually fair pretty well against the Bruins for some reason.

I can't recall if you were one of them or not (probably not), but the whole cinderella run behind Halak, and taking the Bruins to 7 games, had some Habs fans (admittedly, a minority, and some very foolish ones) thinking the Habs were on the verge of a cup.

It still makes me laugh.

touche.

(but that was still being said.... right up until about the time the Habs couldn't win a game this season)

Then it flipped to outrage....

I gotta hand it to you guys, you're a pretty passionate fanbase.

There's no way to try and rationalize what this Habs team mean to a lot of people in this province. It's "who we are" as some say. Hence the whole french players/coaches debate. It's like a cult to some. They are more than just a business. Some people feel betrayed by the organization because of the lack of representation of "local boys".

It's pretty intense.
